Toasty

We had a full July without a single day over 89 degrees.

Did our air conditioning at home shit itself then?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  1. Oh God.
I think my house’s a/c is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I hope you can get this resolved without too much hassle. I really do.
    AUGUST CAN SUCK IT!!!

Dys just called; the 600-mile diagnosis from our family member expert is a blown capacitor. Serviceman inbound, ETA this afternoon.

It hasn’t been as hot here as it has there, but yesterday was still damned uncomfortable. Cross your fingers for us!

  2. I’m livinging in a constant state of fear that our a/c is going to do the same thing. Good luck.

    Gracias!

We’ve been without for a day or two before and survived. My parents just made it for a week last month – by borrowing a window unit, closing off half their house, and sleeping on a pull-out sofa bed in the living room. Eesh.

Could be worse – it could be the third multi-day power outage in the past year. At least it’s just the AC and we can still use fans, the fridge, etc.!

  3. Blech. Sorry.

Danke. If you have a spare ocean breeze, email to me!

Well, not to ME, to Dys, I suppose. My office has AC, she’s stuck at home.

  4. We just had record setting triple digits here recently that lasted longer than a week. At the new place here, we have a/c, but it froze up and conked out on the hottest day, when it was 109 in the shade. I don’t even want to think about how hot it was without that shade!

Yeah, you guys had it really rough there for a while! It’s the Northwest, fertheluvva, not Texas!

  5. My Mom’s capacitor went out in hers…here we have 100 degree weather…and her 100 degree weather is humid. 😦 Needless to say, they told her that the other capacitor would probably go out soon. Hopefully it will hold on until winter.

Our weather is humid also, particularly yesterday, but it could still be worse…

  6. UPDATE: As of 6 hours later, we have AC again. Yay!

The 600-mile diagnosis was absolutely correct, btw. He’s good.

  7. Oh shit, I’m sorry.

On the other hand though, we don’t have AC at all. And the past couple of days it’s been pretty warm. I’m just glad we had a box fan.

I haven’t lived in a place that plain ol’ didn’t have AC since my freshman dorm in college. Ack!

  8. A blown capacitor? Does that mean you can’t get back to 1984?

All I need is a bolt of lightning.

    And a DeLorean, of course.

    • That would be a blown FLUX capacitor, and it’s 1985, duh. 😀

Damn it, I’m angling for a DeLorean here! Don’t you know how much I wanted a car with gullwing doors as a kid? Don’t blow it for me!

      😀
