Monday Music

But what I really wanna know is…

Lenny Kravitz, “Are You Gonna Go My Way”

  1. DAMMIT.

I saw him in concert in 1992 in Gainesville, FL where he opened for the Cult. It was an awesome outdoor show on some kind of bluff. But it was at night in February and even though I now live in a colder climate, that night was some freakish cold snap where it was below freezing (didn’t snow) all night and we almost died in our thin Florida jackets and no gloves. It didn’t matter though; Lenny was hot enough to keep our blood pumping.

I was quite heavily into Lenny around about that time myself. I have a buttload of respect for the man – not only does he write great rock music, but he can and often does play all of his own instruments. I wish, I wish, I wish I had the talent to walk into a recording studio all by my lonesome and walk out with a record half as good as a LK record.

  2. The first time I saw him, he opened up for Tom Petty on the Full Moon Fever tour. Let Love Rule had just been released. What a great show.

I get a little tingly at the sight of Lenny, myself.

    That’s two votes for Lenny…

  3. CLASSIC!!

He makes me feel funny too… 😛

This is a big hit with us girlies, TB!

And a third vote! Clearly I’m onto something here.
