Taking requests

Now is ze time on Schprockets ven ve dance.

(If you didn’t get that, you’re too young.  GTFO.)

No, wait.  Hang on a second…oh yeah.  Now is the time in the set when I take a few requests from the audience.

Taking a cue from Laura, who took it from someone else…

I think we’ve already established my blogging comfort zones here…motorcycles, motorcycle racing, relationships, music, funny shit that happens in everyday exchanges between myself and my wife.  But every blogger has a focus, and every blogger has things they just don’t go into.

So what the hell, we already know that I work best when given a little something to run with.   So challenge me, rattle my helmeted little noggin!  Name something that I don’t typically blog about that you’d like to hear about from me, and I’ll whip up a post about it.  I’ll even attempt to be interesting and/or amusing.

Painfully true.

While playing Trivial Pursuit this weekend, my wife and I ended up talking about (mostly) fond memories of the old TV show Hee Haw (coincidentally, in both of our markets it was followed by Lawrence Welk). I mentioned to her the bit that I’d blogged back when we got back from Virginia, in which I told my brother that if his bluegrass band wanted audience participation that they should work the “*Pffft* You Were Gone” into the end of something as a coda.

She says, “Hell yeah, that would work. That damned thing is like the redneck ‘shave and a haircut.’”
