It’s a beautiful day and I’m feeling good. So, here’s to changing seasons and changing lives.
Colin Hay, “Beautiful World”
I heard this song for the first time on Friday when the Scrubs soundtrack my wife ordered arrived, and by Sunday afternoon I’d learned it. I liked it too much not to play it, to try to capture some of that feeling for myself. Wonderful.
The sound quality of the above vid isn’t all that great; there’s a vaguely amusing video on Youtube that has the studio recording of the song set to lo-fi animation. Here’s the link to that one.
I’m dedicating this Monday Music to a number of my friends who are going through changes…tough at times, but ultimately for the better.
Stephanie O, Stephanie T, Alexandra, Sue, and others I’m not mentioning by name, this one’s for you.

That song put a smile on my face. Thanks for putting it up. By the way, I’m doing better today. I got my hair cut. That always makes a girl feel better.
My wife did that this weekend, too. Of course, I get my hair cut every morning in the shower, so it’s not a big deal to me.
Glad it got a smile!
Awww… I love that soundtrack. I bought it for Todd and queued it up in his car when he was having a stressy time at work. It made him so happy.
Though we always crack up at this song and say that he’s singing “I like sleeping with Marines” instead of “I like sleeping with Marie.” We’re like “he’s a badass dude, huh?”
The “or a woman, if you are one” line makes me laugh.
